The adult female specimen of Phronima sedentaria displayed was found on the strandline inside the Common Salp, Salpa fusiformis at Sennen Cove, Cornwall. 12.11.23. This female specimen was also brooding about 32 well developed juveniles.

I am very very grateful indeed to Dr. Michael Vos who's child found the specimen and together passed it on to the author of this website so it could be photographed in detail.

The main objective of this website is in furthering environmental awareness and education through the medium of photography. To increase awareness and access to the wildlife of the region and help
people find and identify it. Sometimes the difference between species is obvious but many species can only be determined by observing microscopic characteristics that are specific to any one species.
