The juvenile specimen above was found on a plastic lobster creel collar that washed-up at Sennen Cove, Cornwall, 18.01.18.

Juvenile specimen above is just 2.6mm long and quite characteristic of the species. It was found in a scrape sample from a pontoon at Newlyn Marina, Newlyn, Cornwall, 04.05.18.

Common name used, from Edward Step's book Shell Life, from reference to synonym Chiton laevis; referred to as such by the Marine Species Identification Portal.
