I am a professional horticulturalist with over 25 years experience of the trade, specialising in the amenity and landscaping sector. I have broadened my horizons over the past ten years and now also specialise in both website design and wildlife photography as well as horticulture.

Born in Liskeard in 1965 to parents of Lincolnshire decent, I was brought up in the Plymouth and Saltash area, and attended Drake Primary School and Sutton High School for Boys in Plymouth, Devon.

As a teenager I had numerous hobbies and had a keen interest in both natural and local history, participating in pursuits such as metal detecting, bottle hunting, natural history, rocks and mineral collecting, sea fishing and athletics. Just don't ask me to run 800m in under 2 minutes now.

To me horticulture is not a profession but a vocation and I love gardening and working with plants, and I was also incredibly fortunate also to be able to attend both Pershore and Cannington Colleges whilst in my twenties.

I currently live in Heamoor, near Penzance, with my partner Carol and our border collie called Susie, sadly we recently lost our collie Bess who'd been my personal companion for many years.

Carol and I photograph a wide range of subject matter on our travels and place the best photographs on our websites; we both very much enjoy beachcombing and rockpooling when we feel able, and of course when the tides are right.

I am not currently in employment and I am not taking on any work because I am coming to terms with CFS / ME; a recent diagnosis, but something I have been suffering from for over four years, and something I still have to come to terms with.

This website is part of my APHOTO websites which have been around now for over seven years. It was created using Dreamweaver CS4 and designed to allow me to present more images on the website in a better way than before. More images allow people to be more sure of any identification they may make in finding out what something is; but at the same time it will also allow me to provide an ever increasing amount of images that can be purchased for a wide range of purposes, from packaging, publication to display or exhibition.

It is also my intention in the future to offer myself as a regional guide for rockpooling and shore excursions; both for educational purposes for schools and colleges but also for private bookings for holiday makers, day trippers or wildlife and environmental organisations and groups. I may also be contacted by research establishments for specimen collection.
