Reasonably common but sometimes very hard to find and not just because of its small size but because it blends in very well with its background. It is often seen on pink encrusting algae. Living animals are best looked for under stones in rockpools from the middleshore and below. Shells can be found washed up on the beach but these are easily damaged.
