Specimen illustrated is 10mm long and represents a broken rear end of a worm. Fortunately, the rear, pygidial funnel end of the worm has useful characteristics to identify the species. The specimen was found littorally on sieving loose surface sediments at Penzance Harbour, Penzance, Cornwall, 22.01.18..

Species kindly verified by Dr. Andrew Mackie.

The main objective of this website is in furthering environmental awareness and education through the medium of photography. To increase awareness and access to the wildlife of the region and help
people find and identify it. Sometimes the difference between species is obvious but many species can only be determined by observing microscopic characteristics that are specific to any one species.
