The species here found on a Stone crab trap covered with hydroids, stalked barnacles and Jewel Box shells. The trap was found washed-up on the strandline at Praa Sands, near Helston, Cornwall, 10.11.15. The trap was manufactured in Marathon in the Florida Keys, which is where the Jewl Boxes Chama species of mollusc have originated.

The close-up images here are heavily cropped, the species was unfortunately not noticed at the time of taking the photographs.

The main objective of this website is in furthering environmental awareness and education through the medium of photography. To increase awareness and access to the wildlife of the region and help
people find and identify it. Sometimes the difference between species is obvious but many species can only be determined by observing microscopic characteristics that are specific to any one species.
