The specimens here were photographed live, they were caught 80 miles north-west of Land's End on the Northwest Banks in 60 fathoms of water by the vessel Nimrod. The images here were taken 26.03.20.

This species is also called the Norwegian king crab.

A big thanks go to Paul Semmens who enabled the photographing of the specimens, both of which were released afterwards.

The main objective of this website is in furthering environmental awareness and education through the medium of photography. To increase awareness and access to the wildlife of the region and help
people find and identify it. Sometimes the difference between species is obvious but many species can only be determined by observing microscopic characteristics that are specific to any one species.
