Eight or nine marine midges were found scrambling around the top of a rock topped by lichen that was situated in an uppershore / strandline pool, at Lesceave Cove, Praa Sands, Cornwall. 09.11.13. SW4501224050.

Species is approximately 2mm across, and is associated with marine algae. It is synonymous with Chironomus variabilis.
