Images of species taken at Spit Point, Par, near St. Austell, 28.05.10; Hannafore Point, near Looe, Cornwall, 02.03.10; also at Batten Beach, Mount Batten, Plymouth, Devon, 28.01.06.

This species is most commonly found on brown seaweeds like Saw or Toothed wrack, Fucus serratus, on the middle and lowershore; but may also be found on rock and shells within the same zone; shells such as the bivalve Prickly saddle oyster, Heteranomia squamula.

The main objective of this website is in furthering environmental awareness and education through the medium of photography. To increase awareness and access to the wildlife of the region and help
people find and identify it. Sometimes the difference between species is obvious but many species can only be determined by observing microscopic characteristics that are specific to any one species.
